Guess I'll get a whole new coffee maker now. Not worth getting the replacement. Thanks a lot. I ordered this replacement a few weeks ago. I was cleaning it out in the kitchen sink with COLD water and it cracked.
i hope this one holds up well. i bought this as a replacement for the original carafe that came with my coffee maker which shattered when we moved. we liked the carafe, handle, and lid.
I've seen some reviews that indicate the glass is weak or too thin, but I haven't had any problems; seems to be of identical quality to the first carafe (which, by the way, was knocked off the counter onto a tile floor, so no surprise it broke). It works perfectly, though, and looks exactly like the original. I ordered this as a replacement when my Braun (model 3104, european 220v) coffeemaker's original carafe was broken. I was concerned that it may not work since the drip function is triggered by the coffee pot being in just the right place.
Sits firmly on the coffeeplate. The spout gives a very good pour. Cleaning is easy and should be washed after every use for optimum whiteness. Braun carafe has a great feel in the hand when filled with coffee. Goodbalance.
It is NOT a door-stop, a step stool, a meat tenderizer, or a tire chock(block) - go figure. .think again. It's a fish bowl, an herb garden planter, a coin bank, an ant-farm habitat container, a magnification device.
